The Mare & Foal

A beautifully delicate original antique equestrian study from 1933, capturing a quiet gathering of horses alongside the particularly charming pairing of a mare and her young foal. The wonderfully loose, almost unfinished quality of the drawing gives the piece a sense of movement and intimacy, a small moment of country life preserved on paper for nearly a century.

We’ve framed the original in a rich, dark wood frame, chosen to bring a traditional English country-house character to the piece.
